How I Use AI in Recruitment (Without Replacing the Human Part)
AI is everywhere in recruitment conversations right now. Most of it is hype. Here's what I actually use it for, every day, and where I draw the line.
Sourcing
I use AI to build boolean strings, analyze company tech stacks, and identify target companies faster. What used to take me 2 hours now takes 20 minutes.
Screening
After every screening call, an AI agent generates a structured debrief: technical assessment, soft skills, motivation, red flags. It doesn't decide. I decide. But it helps me structure my thinking.
Market Analysis
Salary benchmarks, talent density by city, competitive landscape. AI processes data I used to compile manually from 10 different sources.
Where I draw the line
Understanding people. Reading between the lines. Knowing when someone is telling you what you want to hear versus what they actually think. Giving honest advice to a candidate about whether a role is right for them. That stays human. Always.
